Blogging thoughts...

Years ago I decided to close my Facebook account and start this blog so that I could keep my family updated with the happenings of the H girls. Now that I am back on Facebook, I thought I would close this blog...and then I had a thought! This blog could be something that Aubrey and I work on together. Now that she is a reader and writer, SHE can write about what is happening in our life! What fun awaits!

She loves helping me in the kitchen:) And she's good at it!

She got her first sewing machine today and wants to make a quilt!

She made us dessert tonight...chocolate chip pancakes (I made those this morning) covered with chocolate sauce and caramel!

"The Well"

The Well is a card game that Aubrey created. It is similar to Go Fish and some other card game where a King and Queen equals a marriage!

Materials: 1 deck of 52 playing cards

Object of the game: be the first player to get rid of all his/her cards

Start play: deal 10 cards to each player and lay the rest face down in the center-The Well.

If you have Aces, Kings, Queens, Jacks you are to lay them face up in front of you. A King and Queen is a marriage as long as they have a friend (Ace or Jack).

How to play: youngest person starts and asks his/her opponent if they have a match (red number matches red number and black number matches black number i.e. 8 heart matches 8 diamond; 3 club matches 3 spade). If the opponent has the card, he/she passes it. If not, the opponent says "Go to the well" (which Aubs also adds "where the seahorses live and the people have nothing to drink"). 

If you have a marriage (see Start play above), then you can tell your opponent to do something with the cards. Some examples include, take 2 cards from The Well and give one to each of us, take 5 cards from The Well, etc.

If you get the joker, you get to take an opponents Ace, King, Queen or Jack.
